Once an independent medieval town (with its own statute dating back to 1355), Höchst was the head office of a rural district, now known as Main-Taunus-Kreis. Among the areas of interest of this neighborhood one remembers the Carolingian Justinuskirche church and the Höchster Schloss (the castle of Höchst), the Bolongaro Palast and the Höchster Stadtpark (city park of Höchst). Well served by all means of public transport, one finds numerous tram, bus and passing metro stops in this area (S-bahn S1 and S2), that lead to roughly every part of the city, as well as the neighboring train station, Höchster Bahnhof.
