Paris offers a variety of accommodations fit to suit every particular desire: from traditional hotels to inns, from guest houses to furnished private apartments.
To help you plan your trip to the French capital, here’s some interesting information about Paris hotels and the services they offer:
- The closer you are to the centre of Paris (Concorde-Louvre-Saint Germain) the more expensive the hotels are.
- Hotel rooms in Paris are smaller than those in the US.
- Hotels are more expensive on the Rive Droite (Right Bank: Champs-Elysées, Opera, Louvre) than on the Rive Gauche (Left Bank: Saint Germain, Latin Quarter, Invalides), where rooms are typically smaller.
- There's been a great deal of renovation of hotels in Paris in the recent years, and most of the hotels have all the modern amenities (except for A/C due to the short hot season, only in July/August).
- Not all hotels have restaurants/room service, but don't forget, you'll be in Paris... the city that boasts more restaurants than any other!
- Most hotels offer continental breakfast (with croissant and café crème!) which are usually not included in the room rate.
- The city tax is generally not included in the hotel rates but doesn't exceed $1-$2 per person per night.
Finding the right accommodation for your holiday in Paris is, of course, as important as organizing the right plane, train or automobile to get there. And once you do get there, the right accommodation Paris now has to offers is your very own private serviced apartment, in the very area you desire:
