Feast of the Redeemer

The Festa del Redentore (Feast of the Redeemer) enlivens Venice from July 14th to July 15th, and it is one of the most heartfelt celebrations by the Venetians, but also one of the most spectacular tourist attractions of the city. Many events part of the celebration are related to tradition: a concert of sacred Venetian music, the gondolas Regatta and the votive bridge, a floating bridge of rafts which connects the Church of the Redeemer to the island of Giudecca. The most spectacular event, however, is the fireworks show, which, on Saturday night, illuminate the lagoon city.
