Naples

Even Goethe himself said, see Naples and die...

Bread, love and dreams: three words which symbolize the philosophy of Naples, a colourful and vibrant city, where Halldis offers apartments and vacation rentals to suit all tastes.

During the morning you can take advantage of an accommodation in a Naples apartment to visit the city on foot: starting from Piazza del Plebiscito, where you can find the San Carlo Theatre, the oldest opera house in Europe and the Reale Palace, moving towards Castel Nuovo and the port and ending up along the seafront at Caracciolo and Riviera di Ghaia. And when it’s time to take a breather, you can unwind in the Reali Gardens of the Villa Comunale.
Food is an institution here: not only pizza and pasta – mouth-watering spaghetti with Neapolitan seafood is all the rage – but also sfogliatelle and babà, to be served in the company of a good espresso in one of the historical cafeterias which abound throughout the city, as well as freshly- fried mignon delicacies found in shops and stalls.

If you have a little more time to spare, you can organise tours and excursions in the surrounding area: between 12 and 25 kms away, Ercolano and Pompei provide a unique insight into life during the Roman Empire, whilst the islands of Capri and Ischia, easily reachable by hovercraft from the port of Naples, are the ideal combination of sea – the well-known Faraglioni and Blue Grotto – and worldliness. A bit further south the Sorrento Peninsula unwinds together with the Amalfitana Coast, where lemon groves, medieval villages overlooking the sea and Saracen towers reign supreme.
