Venice International Cinema Festival
The 68th Venice International Cinema Festival will be held from August 31st to September 10th at the Biennale di Venezia. It is one of the most important cinema competition of the world, which attracts international actors, directors, producers and critics, coming from Hollywood or from the national cinema. Many films will compete during the festival and there are single tickets as well as tickets for multiple screenings and with special discounts for the guests of the event. But the festival means also a red carpet with cinema stars. This year’s opening movie is “The Ides of March”, by George Clooney.
Brussels Summer Festival
The Brussels Summer Festival, scheduled from August 12th to August 21st, is a festival in Brussels with concerts, shows and exhibitions. But it won’t be just music, as the slogan of the event says: for the occasion, there will be various cultural initiatives in many museums of the city, such as the Museum of Musical Instruments. The event, which is to be held in the Brussels Park area, in Mont des Arts, Place du Musée and Place Des Palais, will host national and international artists and bands.
The Grachtenfestival (Festival of the canals), held form August 12th to August 21st in Amsterdam, is the most important chamber and classical music outdoor festival of the city. National and international famous artists as well as young talents will perform in more than 20 different locations among squares and canals, and for a total of over 80 concerts. You shouldn’t miss the concert held on the last Friday of August on Prinsengracht canal, just in front of the Pulitzer hotel: the most famous piano and orchestra concert on boats and floating platforms.
