The 15th edition of the Chocolate Show, held from October 28th to November 1st, 2010 at the Porte de Versailles in Paris, will be celebrating the alchemy of pleasure, surprise and delight that chocolate really is. Manufacturers and chocolate lovers (hard not to be among the latter!) will meet during the event, which includes a number of chef demonstrations, exhibitions, tastings, conferences, and awards, as well as typical dances from the producer countries. The Chocolate Show 2010 includes the participation of 400 exhibitors from around the world, whose booths will be covering over an area of more than 14,000 m2.
Rome International Film Festival
The Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, designed by the renowned architect Renzo Piano, and the Village Cinema, have come together just for this occasion, to host the fifth edition of the Rome International Film Festival this year, from October 28th to November 5th. During the exhibition there will be many stars from the international cinema arena presenting films from the new season, as well as a huge number of visitors (last year there were more than 2,000,000!). You can attend the film screenings in competition, who are aiming to win a festival prize (named Marcus Aurelius) in five different sections: International Jury Prize, Audience Award, Alice in the city, Best Documentary, Lifetime Achievement Award and Newcomers. The whole city will also be animated by a special atmosphere, full of events dedicated to cinema and particularly enhanced by the city's historic monuments.
On October 24th, 2010 the 25th edition of the Venice Marathon will be held. It is a large, spectacular marathon organised for charity, and this year will see a new, unprecedented path for a change: participants will pass through Piazza San Marco for the first time. Already in Summer enrolments (which accepted a maximum of 6,000 participants) were sold out, registering a record of female participation compared to previous editions. The start will be at 9:20 am at Stra, a small town 25 km from Venice, while the end is in the historic centre of Venice, at Riva Sette Martiri. The race will take place along the Brenta Riviera, in Marghera, Mestre and Venice, alongside the Giudecca Canal and the Grand Canal, passing over floating bridges and bridges equipped with wooden ramps. A unique spectacle in the world, therefore not to be forgotten.
