Description
Cosy 25sq.mt studio apartment offering a spacious environment thanks to a harmonious and accurately studied arrangement in its furnishings and layout. Characterised by ample windows drawing in plenty of sunlight, the apartment is also wonderfully relaxing and silent due to its exposure onto an inner courtyard. Original on-sight wooden beams and a parquet flooring add warmth and a touch of romance, as does the lovely decorative fireplace.
The apartment opens to show a small corridor, conveniently fitted with a built-in closet, which leads into a living room furnished with a sofa bed (140x180) by the fire place and a large dining table for 4, and complete with a flat screen TV and a stereo CD and DVD player. The small but fully equipped kitchen, complete with all necessities including a microwave oven and an electric kettle, is ingeniously built into the corridor which leads to the living room, facing a large window, allowing for it to be virtually separate albeit an open plan kitchen.
The separate sleeping area, with its small double bed-futon (140x180) and decorative bookshelves, is located on a mezzanine level accessible via a wooden ladder. The bathroom has been uniquely designed: two doors divide the WC from the washroom with basin and stall shower, but the two areas are actually communicating and are internally separated only by two gorgeous vertical wooden beams, allowing for both privacy and space to characterise the room.
Pets not admitted.
Area
The apartment is located in the very heart of the lovely Saint-Germain neighbourhood, a few steps from the famous church of Saint Germain des Prés and from the Latin Quarter, respectively in the 5 arrondissement and 6 arrondissement. The main streets of this neighbourhood are boulevard St Germain, which runs parallel to the River Seine, and rue de Rennes, which goes from Place de St Germain des Prés to Tour Montparnasse.
St Germain is known world wide for having been the chosen lieu of an entire literary class, and numerous neighbourhood places still today maintain the aura if yonder years: the super packed Café de Flore (facing the church of St Germain des Prés) is probably the most famous of these cafés.
The narrow streets and alleys around Place St Germain des Prés are always vibrant and lively all day long, and at night time crowded with Jazz lovers attracted by all the local bars offering live music.
For shopaholics the close by rue du Four is a must see, as is the elegant and famous Bon Marché, historically the first Parisian department store, divided into two buildings: one for high end clothes and accessories, the other for gourmet food from all over the world.
Public transport
The closest Metro stations are within a 5 minute walk, Saint-Sulpice or Saint-Germain des Prés (line 4), whilst within 10 minutes’ walking distance is Sévres-Babylone (lines 10 and 12).
The immediate neighbourhood is also well served by numerous bus lines: 39, 70, 84, 86, 87, 95.
