Description
This 130 sq.mt apartment runs the entire width of the building’s façade and overlooks the inner courtyard from its 4th floor windows, making it extremely sunny and quiet. Characterised by its original parquet flooring, delicate wall hues and spot lights in well studied areas, this apartment offers a touch of modern design as the perfect accompaniment to its authentic period environment.
The front door opens to show to the left a long corridor which leads from the day area to the night area, whilst to the immediate right is the toilette. Facing the front door is a large opening with wooden sliding doors which, once closed, conceal the large separate eat-in kitchen. Fully equipped with all necessities including a dishwasher and separate regular and microwave ovens, this modern gas cooker kitchen has dark cabinets matching the sleek black glass dining table for 6-8 people. A cupboard on one side stores cookware while a large window on the other gives it the atmosphere of a perfect living ambience. Be it from the large opening with double doors or from a second door to the other side of the room, the kitchen leads into the adjacent spacious living room to create a perfect day area. Here a large and comfortable double sofa bed stands facing the period fire place adorned by the large gold framed mirror, while a coffee table and two chairs complete the sitting area, and a modern lamp adds a touch of designer feel to the room. A unit with stereo CD player and the flat screen TV with satellite channels and Internet connection also faces the couch, for enjoyable relaxing moments with or without the company of others.
Further down the corridor is the night area, where one first finds the first bedroom, furnished with twin beds to be joined or kept separate as preferred, a closet and a mirror. Next to this, at the end of the corridor, is the first bathroom, fitted with a large stall shower and washbasin, as well as with the washing machine, whilst turning right one first encounters a large closet, to then enter into the master bedroom, spacious and comfortable, with its corner round table with chairs and large decorative fireplace with hanging mirror, and furnished with art deco pieces such as its double bed frame, side tables and dresser. A stereo and radio allow for relaxing moments in the living-bedroom, while the en-suite bathroom with large closet, double wash basins and bathtub top it off with utmost comfort.
Area
This part of Paris has nearly no equivalent when speaking about location and proximity of centers of interest. Right in the 2nd arrondissement, close to the Opera and the Louvre, the apartment is surrounded by History.
Here culture meets the business sector. The area is ideally located for work as many companies and banks are based there or within a short distance. Four of the best hotels in Paris are right nearby, the Crillon, the Ritz, the Meurice and the trendier Hotel Costes.
Already very important during the three centuries before the French Revolution in 1789, this part of Paris has always developed and evolved. In the 16th and 17th century the "Jardin des Tuileries" and the "Place Vendôme" were created. Minor changes to the streets occurred later, for instance "rue de la Paix" (originally "rue Napoléon") was built at the beginning of the 19th century. The rue Saint-Honoré was known as been a place where all ranks of nobility and rich Parisian families found their suppliers since the 16th century. Nowadays the places and people have evolved, but the trend is the same. Except for Sundays, when all shops are closed, the area is always busy and lively.
With all this History what we now have is an amazing architecture and museums. All the streets in the neighbourhood have a very specific theme, the buildings all present a harmonious architecture and design and most of them if not all are of historical importance.
The "Jardin des Tuileries" itself is another piece of History, and in addition to its green area it offers a couple of museums (Le Jeu de Paume and l`Orangerie). Through this garden, and thanks to the Passerelle Solférino, it is easy to access the museum of Orsay, whereas within a short walking distance one also reaches the Louvre. For more theatrical entertainment the "La Comédie Française" and the Opéra Garnier are also very close by.
The neighbourhood has everything to offer for a fine day to day life.
