Description
The apartment is designed around the large living room furnished with three overstuffed velvet sofas, oriental carpets, and long, shimmering drapes. Eclectic works of art complement the rust-coloured furnishings and complete the sophisticated atmosphere of the space. The open plan kitchen and dining area is a masterpiece of colours and patterns, from the black, sinuous curves of the custom-made chandelier illuminating the entire room, to the deep red of the thick carpet on the dining area floor. This space is divided by an island, with a dining table for six people on one side, and a flawlessly appointed work area on the other. The appliances, large refrigerator and freezer, dishwasher, double oven and professional five-burner stovetop, are all cleverly concealed behind black cabinet doors. Toaster, espresso maker, and microwave are all nestled into corners of the kitchen, leaving the rest of the large, black stone countertops open as preparation space.
The three bedrooms have each their own theme and bold blend of colours. The master bedroom, which opens off the foyer, is decorated in rich woods and deep reds, whilst its en-suite bathroom, with double vanities and a Jacuzzi tub, is in black and white stone and tile. The windows are covered with rice paper, giving both privacy and plentiful light, and the room’s location on the courtyard assures perfect quiet. A large armoire dominates one side of the room, opposite the king-sized bed. The television, with English-language channels and a DVD player, is positioned next to the armoire.
A second bedroom with two twin beds opens from the living room and has views of the street. This room is decorated in earthy yellows and reds, and has a good-sized armoire for clothes storage. Occupants of this bedroom share the bath of the master bedroom, to which they have direct access from the room. An independent WC for use by occupants of the master and second bedroom is on the hallway just beyond the foyer. A long hallway from the foyer leads to the third bedroom, which enjoys perfect quiet from its position overlooking the sunny courtyard, and the spacious second bathroom, in white tile and black stone, and complete with twin basins under a wide, brilliantly lit mirror, a tub with hand-held shower, and a WC.
Within steps of the building entrance are some of the best-known and most fashionable streets of Paris, rue de Rennes, de Grenelle, du Dragon, de Bonaparte and Saint-Sulpice. A left turn on rue de Rennes leads to boulevard Saint-Germain and three of Paris` most famous literary cafés, Deux Magots, Flore and Brasserie Lipp.

Area
Saint Germain des Prés and the Latin Quarter, the 6th arrondissement and 5th arrondissements respectively, represent the beating heart of the Left Bank. The main arteries are boulevard St Germain, which arcs parallel to the Seine, and boulevard St Michel, which runs perpendicular to it as far south as the Jardin du Luxembourg.
St Germain was once a hotspot for thinkers and the literati.
South of boulevard St Germain, place St Sulpice is the perfect place for a drink overlooking the church followed by some designer shopping. Rue St-André-des-Arts, rue de Seine, rue du Four, rue de Sèvres and rue du Bac heave with fashion shops, contemporary art galleries and antique shops.
At the southern end of rue du Bac is the Bon Marché department store. There is a fantastic food market on rue de Buci and great markets on rue Mouffetard and rue Monge.
