Description
This 90 sq.mt apartment has a particular and original layout which optimises space in the best way. The large foyer has been turned into a living area, perfect even for informal business meetings: a gorgeous crystal table is framed by designer lights and mirrors, creating a cosy environment. The foyer leads, on the left, to the living room, furnished with two comfortable red couches positioned facing each other in order to create an intimate ambiance for conversations or to watch TV in a relaxed mood. Here paintings, lights and vases, all chosen with taste, characterize the space in a singular and pleasant way.
At the end of the room on the left is a small room which can be used as a guest room/study, furnished with a writing desk and a double sofa bed.
On the right of the foyer is the separate kitchen, where simplicity and wooden finishings create a familiar atmosphere. The open plan kitchen is fully equipped and a long wooden table for 6 people allows to organize perfect dinners for friends. The balcony accessible from the kitchen overlooks the inner courtyard.
A stone staircase in the foyer leads to the upper floor, comprising a master bedroom with double bed and a study. This floor is dominated by ethnic pieces of furniture and by objects dating back to the 70’s, combining perfectly with designer items. The study is fitted with a large closet, so that the bedroom has more space for a couch. Both rooms overlook the kitchen or the living room.
The bathroom is located downstairs and is fitted with bathtub.
Area
The apartment is located in the heart of Central Turin. The splendid Via Po, a few steps from the apartment, is one of the main commercial streets in the centre: on the right (heading towards the river) is a succession of bars, shops and bookstores; on the left the Stemmi Palace, the University Palace and stalls of used books. Within a short distance are the Mole Antonelliana, whose height of 167.5 meters towers over the city, containing the now famous Museum of the Cinema (absolutely not to be missed); the National University Library; the museum of the Italian Risorgimento; the Egyptian Museum of Turin, one of the world’s most important collections after that in Cairo. Arriving in Piazza Castello one sees the royal aspect of Turin with Palazzo Madama at its center. Just behind it is the marvellous Royal Palace, a grandiose example of 17th century architecture, rearranged and enlarged several times. To the rear are the well-maintained Royal Gardens, layed out in 1697 by Andre Le Notre, the "father" of the gardens of Versailles, where in summer concerts and other occasions are held.
A few meters away are the Cathedral of San Giovanni Battista where the Holy Shroud is kept, the Teatro Regio, the Royal Library and the church of San Lorenzo. The end of Via Po opens on one of the most beautiful squares of the city, Piazza Vittorio Veneto. Numerous means of transport connect the central zone to the rest of the city. The tram number 18 leads to the Centro Lingotto Fiere (exposition center) and the "Gallery 8" commercial centre in the same complex.
The apartment overlooks Piazza Bodoni, where at any given hour of the day passers by may be delighted in listening to the music coming from the Conservatory of Giuseppe Verdi. The notorious Kipling Café is also on this square, with its lovely atmosphere enhanced by the open air tables in the warmer months.
