Description
This lovely 50 sq.mt apartment, ideal to spend a pleasant stay in Turin, opens up onto a foyer fitted with an hideaway kitchen corner, that, even though pretty small, offers all the facilities of a large kitchen. A black wooden chest of drawers and a marble table create also a cosy atmosphere in this foyer, where it is also possible to have a quick brunch without using the living room table. Past the door on the right is the living room: a small and bright open space furnished in a very essential and functional style. In this room there is a double sofa bed positioned in front of a capacious bookcase and a table for 2/4 people which can also be used to work in the light of a French window overlooking Via Porta Palatina.
The space is enriched and completed by kilim carpets, stamps and lamps, which make it pleasant for a stay here in the historical center of Turin. The bathroom with shower and washing machine is located between the foyer and the living room, and in front of which there is a spacious closet for the guests’ personal belongings.
Area
The apartment is located in Via Porta Palatina , a few steps from the well-known Via Garibaldi, a pedestrian street filled with shops and historic points of interest such as the splendid building of the City Hall. A few steps away is Piazza Statuto, in the centre of which is the monument commemorating the completion of Frejus, built in 1879.
A few meters away is Porta Susa railroad station and the newly-constructed subway station joining the centre of Turin to Rivoli and Collegno.
At the end of Via Garibaldi is the splendid area of Piazza Castello, considered the heart of Turin: in the centre Palazzo Madama, on the sides The Royal Palace, the Prefecture, the Royal Armoury, the Regio Theater and the porticos with their shops (among which the historic cafes Baratti and Mulassano). The main streets of the city lead from here: Via Po, Via Roma and Via Garibaldi. From Via Po, profiting from the famous porticos which enable to cross the centre under cover, one can admire the marvel of Piazza Vittorio: designed in 1825 by the architect Giuseppe Frizzi.
A few steps further and one finds the Mole, symbol of Turin, the Po and the Murazzi, for pleasant evenings in Turin’s famous nightspots.
Public transport
At a few steps from the apartment is the stop of the tram lines 4 and 18 and of the bus lines 50 and 56.
Parking
Pay parking slots located all over the historical center with some off limits areas for cars.
