Agatha

Very clean and perfectly located in a nice quite section of the city. Everything in the city is within walking distance. Many great local restaurants in immediate area. 15-20 min walk to the Duomo. I'd absolutely stay there again. Very happy with Agatha and the very easy communication we had with the property management through WhatsApp.

It's very convenient appartment for a larger group. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms! Wonderfull! It was very clean. and the check-in and check-out procedure was very easy. The only minor detail, were the chairs around the table; they didn't sit well ;-)
But I would surely recommend this appartment!

Very nice apartment in a comfortable area, just a few minutes from everything. A lot of restaurants and shops nearby.

I stayed at Agatha with family in June of 2023. This was the 2.0 version of a trip that was supposed to have taken place in June of 2020.

So I must begin by commenting on the extraordinary flexibility and generosity of Halldis in extending a travel voucher to our family. We were unable to travel last year due to vaccination mandates and other issues. Halldis went above and beyond to extend our voucher and make the trip possible at a later date.

Vuk, Mirjana, Ana, Mirjana, Veljko, Fabiana,, and everyone we dealt at Halldis were consummate professionals, and for that we are most appreciative. Upon our arrival, we were met by the local representative, who was friendly and knowledgeable. My husband arrived 5 days later than the rest of us. We were out on an excursion when he lived and a Halldis rep met him with prompt and friendly service.

Agatha was not the original apartment we had rented. We'd originally planned to stay a month in Florence and had an apartment in the city center. However this property was not available and we selected Agatha. I didn't know much about the Oltrarno, having previously stayed closer to the Duomo and all of the tourist activity. The Oltrarno is literally "on the other side of the Arno". We just loved the neighborhood! It's very residential, so you feel like you are a part of Florentine life rather surrounded by tourists. The Oltrarno is likely filled with boutiques, restaurants, and coffee shops. There was a Conad and a good coffee bar within minutes of Agatha--as well as a Sobrino Gelateria. There was also a place where we could buy homemade wine from a keg--for $4 a bottle. It was delicious!

After spending the day in hustle and bustle of the tourist attractions, it was so nice to return to the less chaotic side of the river for dinner and cocktails. It's important to note that the walk from Agatha to Ponte Vecchio is fewer than 10 minutes. We walked to the train station (with our luggage) in fewer than 15 minutes. It was really a perfect spot!

The apartment is charming and comfortable. I traveled with family--but mixed family--so we required three bedrooms. How rare to find a three bedroom apartment so well located! The bedrooms were spacious. Plenty of room to store clothing and shoes. There were also two bathrooms--updated and modern with excellent water pressure. (And as an aside, let me say that Florence's water is SO soft--so look forward to a lot of good hair days!) We had a problem with drainage in one shower. We brought it to the attention of the local Halldis person and it was dealt with immediately--and repaired. Wonderful and responsive service.

The kitchen is tiny but was serviceable for our needs, which were minimal. We were in Florence, after all. No need to cook when some of the best food in the world is available. The washer worked well. American tourists need to be aware that cycles on Italian washers take quite a long time, so plan accordingly. There are 2 drying racks in the apartment and we also used the pulley clothesline out the window.

We felt 100% safe in the apartment. Most nights, I fell asleep hearing the sounds of happy families in the alley. Italians are up late and their kids are up late too. Why not? It's summertime, after all. I loved hearing those joyful sounds and slept wonderfully. The AC worked well; we were always comfortable.

I only have two negative things to say about the apartment. The first is that some of the kitchen dishes could have been cleaner. It looked like a potpourri of someone's old dishes, and some of the coffee cups were stained. Buying an inexpensive set of plain white dishes would go a long way. The second was that the bedspreads were a bit musty. The sheets on the beds were clearly freshly washed upon our arrival, but the coverlets looked like they could have used a cleaning.

We truly loved our stay and would recommend it. We are appreciative to Halldis for their grace and professionalism and for making our family trip to Florence so memorable!
